An Awesome Book

So, I am reading the most awesome book ever right now--Sacred Parenting, by Gary Thomas-- if you have children you need to read this book-- Thank you so much , my friend, Danelle for "loaning" me this wonderful book!

In case you don't know, every morning while I blow dry my hair I read-- for the past 7 months it has been the Bible-- I'm only as far as Deuteronomy, but at a page or two a day that is pretty good :)-- anyway I have recently detoured from this ritual to read Gary's book and have been so amazed at what a difference this book has made in my own life I want to encourage everyone to read it.

This morning I finished the chapter on "burning love" which gave some amazing spiritual application to dealing with anger when it comes to raising children and in every day life . I now have some pretty powerful "tools" to use when I need to count to 10! I realized that anger is not a sin-- depending on how you use it and apply it-- So watch out next time I'm feeling angry-- it might just benefit me in my spiritual journey!

I can't wait to blow dry my hair tomorrow to see what morsels of wisdom Gary has next :)!!!!

The weekend!!!

I can't believe how excited I always get before the weekend. . is it the knowing that I don't have to hit snooze 10 times the next two days, is it knowing that I can lounge in my jammies until 10:00 if I want? Or more obvious, is it that I get two whole days to re-connect with my two babies and my new hubby?

I'm going with the latter!

This weekend I will tell my children 100 times that I love them, I will take every opportunity to hug and kiss them. I will hold Derek's hand and tell him how handsome I think he is and that I am the luckiest person alive to be married to him. I will kiss my beautiful cat Sheldon on his smooshed nose and I will thank God for every second of it~~~~ Happy Weekend :)

I'll never finish college

So today on my lunch hour I went to the college to enroll for fall classes-- with every intention of following through this time and FINALLY graduating (yes mom , it will happen!!!)And I was told that as of last Spring the requirements for the degree changed and in order to "better prepare" students to sit for the CPA exam they have generously added 7 more classes to the Accounting program. HELLOOOOO!!! It has taken me 6 years to finish as many-- Pray for me that the Dean will grandfather me in to the old curriculum and I can graduate next May!!!! I don't want to be 80 and still trying to get my degree!!!!
